From Goin Off to Goin Strong

From a humble beginning to a proudly local, award-winning experience operator—20 years on, Australian Coastal Safaris is built on passion, people, and the wild magic of the Eyre Peninsula. Still local. Still curious. Still going strong.

What a Journey

9th November 2025 marks 20 years since we ran our very first tour. Back then we were operating under the name Goin’ Off Safaris (yes, I know… naming a business is harder than it looks), while I was juggling 6,000 acres of grain farming, weekend sport, and approximately zero understanding of how tourism actually worked!
This was only ever meant to be a little side gig, a diversification from farming, a hobby sparked by a couple of mates on an island off New York and a very loose plan scribbled on a napkin. Yet two decades later, we’ve gone from a bloke with an idea (and a farm to get back to) to a team of incredible guides, local legends, conservationists, chefs, beachfront accommodation, and storytellers who bring this place to life every single day.
Australian Coastal Safaris has become something I could never imagine back in 2005. 80% of our business are international travellers and a business built on passion, people, a whole lot of Eyre Peninsula magic.
To our first guests who took a punt on us and to every traveller who now flies across the globe to see the wild side of SA, thank you. To our suppliers, agents & ITO’s, a massive thanks. You’ve kept us humble, curious, occasionally sleep-deprived, and very, very busy!
Here’s to 20 years of coastline, cracked windscreens, whale sightings, oyster shucking, campfire yarns, dodgy early branding, and all the adventures still to come.

Cheers Lunch
